“Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward.” – C.S. Lewis |
Life ChangesWe all have periods in our lives that cause distress. Having space to explore these allows us to create coping strategies to relieve anxiety, come to terms with the change and restore balance. These might be:
Losing a loved one Dealing with illness, either your own or someone close to you Coping with dementia (see next page) Having and raising children Caring for elderly relatives Redundancy Managing anxiety Low self-esteem/lack of confidence Relationship Difficulties Traumatic experiences Often spending time exploring these issues can help manage the emotions connected to them. I have a Master’s degree in Dramatherapy from Roehampton University, which involves using creative techniques to explore challenges. I also have qualifications in coaching, NLP and counselling. My fees for therapy are £45 for a 50 minute session. My practice is in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. |
